Why should I sealcoat my driveway?

You want to sealcoat your driveway because it will protect against weather damage, prevent oxidation, beautify your pavement, protect it from gas,oil and chemical spills, make it easier to clean and maintain and gives it an anti-skid surface.

What happens to un-sealed asphalt?

The deterioration begins as soon as the asphalt is paved. Just watch the colour turn from black to oxidized grey in as little as three to six months. The sun dries out the natural oils and resins that are essential for the pavements strength and flexibility. Soon cracks form and water will seep into the base and soften it, freeze and expand it. After this happens you will start to get potholes which can lead to complete pavement replacement.

Another big factor in the deterioration of asphalt is the amount of rain that Greater Vancouver receives each year. The rain will erode your asphalt if it is unsealed, weaken the structure of your asphalt and this will lead to cracks, potholes and eventual pavement replacement.

Do we have to clean the driveway before sealing?

We are a full service asphalt sealcoating company so we will clean the asphalt before sealcoating by pressure washing or power-blowing until it is completely cleaned. Customers who are able to pressure wash or clean their own driveway will get a discount on the price of the job.

Do you do any repairs to the driveway before sealing?

Yes we repair all the cracks with a rubberized crack filler.  If your driveway needs to be repaved, we will then recommend a professional paving company.
